JavaScript Editing Project Calculator


The JavaScript Editing Project Calculator calculates the number of hours (and days) to edit a specified number of pages.


Step 1: Identify the dependencies that affect the material:

Dependency Very Moderate Normal Low Hardly
How heavy an edit is needed?
How technical is the material?
How new is the material?
How experienced is the writer?

Step 2: Click the Calculate button. (Click the Reset button to reset the values to their default.)

Note: You might need to Reload the page to get the form to reset completely.

Step 3: Review the results of the projected pages per hour value

Step 4: Enter the total number of pages to be edited

Step 5: Click the Total button.

Step 6: Review the results of the projected hours and projected days to complete the edit

Step 7: To do another calculation, click the Reset button.

This calculator is based on the calculator provided by Peter Kleczka, which I can no longer locate on the Internet, unfortunately.

His calculator was based the Dr. Joann Hackos' book, Managing Your Documentation Projects, and a Java based calculator she had previously posted on her Web site: http://www.comtech-serv.com/dependency_calculator.htm.
